Daniel Areces

I’m Daniel Areces, and I hold a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology with a focus on Kinesiology from Adams State University. In addition to being the mental skills coach here at SoMi Counseling, I am a certified Executive Functioning Coach. With this certification, I help individuals improve cognitive skills essential for success in various areas of life, including organization, time management, focus, and emotional regulation. I work with clients to develop tailored strategies that enhance their executive functioning, not just in sports, but also in academics and everyday life, enabling them to excel in all aspects of their personal and professional worlds. ​ As a coach, I also specialize in helping athletes strengthen their mental performance with techniques that improve confidence, concentration, and resilience. These same principles of mental preparation and focus also apply to academic success. Whether it's managing school assignments, setting and achieving academic goals, or improving study habits, I help students and professionals boost their mental resilience and cognitive strategies to achieve peak performance both in and out of the classroom.
