Giovanna Shaffer

Giovanna Shaffer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). She earned a Master's of Science degree in Professional Counseling Psychology from Florida International University, and joined South Florida Integrative Medicine in 2021. Giovanna specializes in the treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, OCD, and interpersonal relationship issues. She also provides parent training for behavioral disorders. Giovanna is trained in Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Person-Centered Therapy. She employs an individualized and integrative therapeutic approach in working with clients to meet the unique needs of each individual or couple. She also offers Coaching services for those who seek professional guidance without mental health counseling. Giovanna is fully bilingual and works with patients in both English and Spanish languages for in person and Telehealth appointments.
