Ashley Ratzlaff

Ashley Ratzlaff, MS, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Perinatal Mental Health–Certified (PMH-C) professional. She earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University (FIU) and a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During her graduate training at FIU, Mrs. Ratzlaff completed her practicum and internship at Pediatric Psychology Associates, where she facilitated the Social Understanding and Relationship Fundamentals (SURF) groups and camps, provided consultation at the headache clinic in collaboration with NeuroNetwork Partners, and delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for individuals with anxiety disorders and chronic migraines. Mrs. Ratzlaff takes a child- and family-centered approach that draws on evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, positive behavioral strategies, and social thinking. Her specialty areas include supporting children with emotional regulation challenges, anxiety and OCD, mild behavioral concerns, social thinking and social skills support, and life adjustments (e.g., divorce). She currently facilitates the SURF Explorers program for children ages 4–6, co-facilitates SURF groups, and provides individual counseling services for preschool- and elementary-aged children, middle schoolers, and their families. All services are provided out of the South Miami location, both in-office and virtually. In addition to her work with children, Mrs. Ratzlaff is passionate about supporting mothers during the perinatal and postpartum period. As a PMH-C therapist, she provides counseling for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment to parenthood, and overall maternal wellness. She combines advanced training from Postpartum Support International (PSI) with her own experience as a mother to provide both in-person and virtual maternal mental health services.
