Raquel Concepcion

Raquel F. Concepcion, Ph.D., LMHC is a licensed psychologist and bilingual therapist in English and Spanish specializing in the treatment and assessment of children. She has specialized in psychological assessment, working with children from early childhood through emerging adulthood, with a specific focus in autism spectrum disorder and psychoeducational/academic evaluations. Dr. Concepcion has been working in early prevention and intervention for social-emotional and disruptive behavioral concerns with families since receiving her license in Mental Health Counseling in 2010 and providing comprehensive evaluation since 2015. Dr. Concepcion is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Therapist since 2017 and a PCIT Within Agency Trainer since 2018. She implements parent coaching techniques to provide parents with various evidence-based skills for building caregiver-child relationships, effective communication, and behavioral management to help parents navigate and support their children and reduce oppositional and defiant behaviors. Additionally, Dr. Concepcion is trained and worked with families in the Miami-Dade community using PCIT intervention modification for children with speech and language delays, social-communication concerns, and anxiety. Dr. Concepcion received her bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and earned her master's degree from Florida International University in Mental Health Counseling. After working in a community setting in early childhood prevention and intervention services, she returned to academia, obtaining her master's and doctorate degrees in School Psychology from the University of Florida. She completed her clinical training with Fundamental Therapy Solutions in Gainesville, Florida and her post-doctoral training with the University of Miami's Autism Spectrum Assessment Clinic and the Mailman Center for Child Development's Parent-Child Interaction Therapy program and Parent Club initiative. Dr. Concepcion is a Miami-naïve and is enthusiastic and passionate about serving her local community. Dr. Concepcion is providing services via telehealth and in person at our South Miami location.
