I am a Colombian American woman born in New York to a large close-knit family. I have been licensed for 15 years and have been working with children, adolescents, adults, and families for over 18 years. I can honestly say my work is my passion and I hope to be able to share my passion with you. My primary aim is to provide you with a safe, nurturing environment in which to explore your feelings, confront challenging life situations, and celebrate your triumphs. Above all else, I am dedicated to helping you comprehend and genuinely feel that your worthiness is inherent, rooted not in what you do, but in the very fact that you exist. I work with individuals from all age groups and all walks of life. My style is down-to-earth and personable, designed to foster an atmosphere of comfort and trust. I specialize in child and adolescent therapy, parental guidance, transitions to adulthood, college readiness, adult individual, family and couple psychotherapy, personality disorders, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, intellectual abilities, gifted placement, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and attention deficit disorders. I use creative therapeutic techniques including art and play therapy and mindfulness exercises. I hold a B.A. in psychology from Florida International University and a Psy.D. from Nova Southeastern University, with internship experience at Jackson Memorial Hospital Deaf/Hard of Hearing Clinic and Childhood Autism Evaluation Clinic.
